The Historic Marketplace in Baku dates back to the 17th century. The large courtyard is flanked by a gallery of diwan arches and is at the same time the site of an exhibition of tombstones and sarcophagi from the 13th to 18th centuries, decorated with sculptures of humans and mythical creatures.
