German traces in Azerbaijan are hard to find nowadays at first glance. But in fact, the first Germans came to Azerbaijan as early as the beginning of the 19th century and have been shaping the country’s economy and culture for centuries.

In 2014, a joint research project was organized to explore the German heritage in Azerbaijan. The aim of the initiative was to establish museums, visitor centers and other tourist attractions in the former German colonies. We worked on the content collection and prepared a feasibility study.
