In 2012, the historical insignia of power returned to Albania for the first time since the death of the Albanian prince. The helmet and sword of the Albanian national hero Skanderbeg – on loan from the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna – were presented with extra security measures in a special showcase on the occasion of the 100th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the Albanian state, in the National Museum in Tirana.
