On the occasion of the centenary of the empress’s death, a major exhibition projectwas dedicated to her in Vienna, in the Hermesvilla, which was built by the Emperor especially for her. Instead of having Empress Elisabeth presented from the traditional point of view, this exhibition involved a re-evaluation based on Elisabeth’s assessment of her own personality, illustrated by forms of presentation chosen by herself.
